Q. Friends unexpectedly drop by and you ask them to stay for dinner. What do you cook?
A. I generally have frozen lamb cutlets or seafood in my freezer that I would defrost in about half an hour, then cook something very simple.
Q. What's your favourite Friday night meal?
A. I eat at home most of the time. I love it when my partner makes a spinach pie.
Q. For a romantic night in or out, what's on the menu?
A. If I go out, it would be to Buon Ricordo for their truffle pasta.
Q. What's your secret indulgence food?
A.
Meat pies.
Q. What food couldn't you live without?
A.
Japanese.
Q. What's your favourite health food?
A. Fresh juices and smoothies.
Q. What's your favourite aisle at the supermarket?
A. Fruit and veg.
Q. If you could have five foods on a desert island, what would they be?
A.
Sushi, steak sandwiches, fruit juices, pasta and pizza.
Q. What's your favourite restaurant?
A. Tetsuyas, Sydney.
Q. Have you ever eaten with anyone famous?
A.
No, but have cooked for many.
Q. What dish do you wish you could cook really well?
A.
Japanese sashimi.
Q. What sort of food do you eat when you're stressed with a deadline?
A.
Indian dahl curry for grounding.
Q. Ever put on a dud dinner party?
A.
Yes, in Salt Lake City. The food I had to choose from was such poor quality. I was embarrassed.
Q. Do you think food and wine matching is over-rated?
A.
No, but I don't think you should worry yourself too much about it.
Q. What's the most memorable meal you've even overseas?
A. At the French Laundry in the Napa Valley, 10 courses of perfection. You must go once in your life.
Q. What food would you quite happily never eat again?
A.
Fermented duck egg from Vietnam.
Q. What's one ingredient you always have in your pantry?
A.
Good olive oil.
Q. If you could invite three famous people to a dinner party, who would they be?
A.
Robin Williams, Jessica Biel and Steve Martin.
