I found these scones very easy - even to halve the recipe they worked brilliantly!!! The kids didn't leave too many for visitors that day though.
Mine were a disaster. I couldn't get them out of the cutter (yes, i floured it first!), then they hardly rose. They tasted great though!
I've just made these scones and they are sensational. So easy. I halved the ingredients as I didn't need such a big batch and it was incredibly successful. Next time I'm going to add a handful of sultanas for a change.
I have been trying to make light and fluffy scones forever, and I have a number of books on the matter. This recipe leaves them all for dead! They are better than all the scones that I have ever had from bakeries and Cafe's. Good on ya Johnno.. Your a legend.
I have been using this recipe for a while now and they always come out super delicious. Everyone is amazed at how yummy they are. Everyone seems to think that making scones is so hard, but not with this recipe. I have shared this recipe with all my friends. The scones look like they have been bought from a bakery!!
I have made this recipie previously before reading it here, the scones are just fantastic, and are so light. Anyone can make a success of scones following this recipie, and have nice light scones not rock cakes!
instead of using full cream. (for the weight watchers). Two cups of sour light cream.
