Chocolate fondue
INGREDIENTS

125g dark chocolate, broken into pieces
125g milk chocolate, broken into pieces fruits for dipping, such as strawberries, banana, grapes, dried apricots, orange and grapefruit segments, wedges of apple and pear marshmallows, macaroons
cubes of stale sponge cake (optional)

METHOD

Combine chocolates in a heatproof bowl and set over a pan of simmering water, making sure the bottom of the bowl doesn't touch the water. Leave for about 5-10 minutes, or until chocolate has melted, then stir until smooth.

Serve fondue set over a low heat, accompanied by fruits and marshmallows, macaroons or sponge cake.




Wine suggestion: Seppelt Rutherglen Muscat NV $20. This rich classic, full of spiced fruit, stands up to chocolate.
